Learning About Car Insurance (Part Two)

Welcome back to the VIP European Auto blog. This month we are taking some time out to discussing the complex and esoteric world of car insurance. Sometimes, it seems like the only people who really understand car insurance, are the car insurance agencies themselves. Frankly, that can feel a little disconcerting. When it comes to car insurance, we feel the more you know, the better. In our last blog post, we provided some in-depth information regarding specific insurance terms and coverages types. The coverages which we discussed in that blog were all considered, “major” coverages. Today, we are going to discuss add-ons which can help you tailor your insurance policy to your specific, unique needs.

Emergency Roadside Service: When you are on the road, things happen. Maybe you experience a breakdown, maybe you forgot to stop for gas, maybe your tire blows out, the point is, there is a lot that can go wrong when you are driving. The last thing you want is to be stranded on the side of the road. Similar to AAA, emergency roadside service helps you with things such as jumping a dead battery, replacing a tire, opening a lock, or delivering gas. Talk with your insurance agent about emergency roadside coverage. Some providers will let you add it on for as little as $20 a year.

Rental Reimbursement: What would you do if you suddenly didn’t have a car? How would you get to work? How would you take your kids to school? How would you shop for groceries? This could happen to you if you get in a major accident and your car is totaled or put in the shop. Rental reimbursement will pay for your rental while you are waiting to get your car back. Don’t let your life be put on hold, consider rental reimbursement.
